Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Windows 8 Beta) has been released today as we reminded yesterday. Microsoft is currently holding the official event at the Mobile Web Congress in Barcelona, Spain and the download links have also appeared in the official Microsoft website. It is available right now in the Windows developer center website. The beta version of Microsoft Visual Studio 11 Express to build the Metro Style Apps is also released simultaneously. What release date are you referring to? We have not mentioned the release date anywhere. It was February 29 and the date on which the post was written. Windows 8 Developer Preview was released on September 13 last year and the Consumer Preview was released on February 29 this year.
